 1974年神奈川県生まれ、同県横浜市在住。1999年、愛知県立芸術大学美術学部油画科卒業。

代表作《Mind Games》シリーズでは、ボードゲーム「オセロ／リバーシ」のルールに基づき、グリッド上に2色の絵具を交互に重ねながら画面を構築する。スタンピングやドロッピングといった反復的な手法を用い、行為とルール、偶然性と統制の関係を可視化している。偶然性を孕むマチエールは、他者との関係性やコミュニケーションのあり方を抽象的に可視化する。

また、絵画と実物モチーフを組み合わせた写真作品《Pictures（ピクチャーズ）》シリーズや、写真とペインティングを組み合わせた《グリッドの中の風景》シリーズなど、複数のメディアを横断した制作を行う。

「リアルとバーチャル」のあいだに生じる「境界の揺らぎ」を主題に、ペインティング、写真、彫刻、映像、インスタレーションなど多様な表現を用いて制作している。

近年では、日本国内外の規模の大きな屋外インスタレーションのプロジェクトや、フィールドワークに取り組むなど、活動を広げている。

Born in 1974 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Lives and works in Yokohama, Kanagawa.

Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Aichi University of the Arts, in 1999.

In her representative Mind Games series, she constructs compositions by alternately layering two colors of paint within a grid, following the rules of the board game Othello/Reversi.

Using repetitive techniques such as stamping and dripping, the works visualize the relationship between action and rules, chance and control.

The accidental textures that emerge through differences in material properties and techniques abstractly reflect human relationships and modes of communication.

She also produces works across multiple media, including the photographic series Pictures, which combines painting and physical motifs, and Landscape within the Grid, a series that integrates photography and painting.

Focusing on the “fluctuation of boundaries” that arise between the real and the virtual, she works with a wide range of media including painting, photography, sculpture, video, and installation.

In recent years, she have expanded her activities to include large-scale outdoor installation projects and fieldwork both in Japan and abroad.
